SECURITY - Please contact Travis Smith at
tsmithnc@msn.com for more information on volunteering in this area.  There are a lot of exit doors at the Farm Show Complex and volunteers are needed to assist by monitoring a door to be sure that rabbits leaving the building have been properly checked out by the breed chair. A large crew is needed starting on Wednesday morning of checkout. Additionally, a smaller crew is needed to provide general security and door monitoring during the entire event.

CHECK IN - Please contact Lori Jo Whitehaus at  ljwhitehaus@gmail.com for more information on volunteering in this area.  For a national convention, this means ensuring a smooth check in for all exhibitors. Volunteers are needed two days before check in to stuff packets. When the Registration Booth is open for check in, it will stay open around the clock until the deadline to have all rabbits checked in. That means we need volunteers to be staffing the booth continuously from Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening.

Thursday, October 17th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM is a critical time.  We really need about 15-20 people then to stuff the 2,000+ registration packets.

Saturday, October 19th from 8:00 PM - Midnight (or later) is a crazy time. We really need about 15 people then to tear apart the comment cards and put them with the control sheets for the Show.

Tuesday, October 22nd at around 6:00 PM we need help cutting and stuffing all of the "legs" into the packets.

Tuesday, October 22nd at around 8:00 PM - Midnight (or sooner, if we have a lot of people), we will stuff all of the results and ribbons into the packets.

SECRETARY'S BOOTH - Please contact Lori Jo Whitehaus at ljwhitehaus@gmail.com for more information on volunteering in this area.  During the convention, a team of about 25 volunteers is needed to staff the booth with the majority of the work beginning on Monday morning. At that point, we will be preparing for check out and will again work around the clock to have all packets ready for exhibitors to take home on Wednesday morning. All of the computer data is handled by a vendor so you don't need to know any particular show program. Again, Lori Jo and Tori are coordinating this area.

Will need multiples volunteers during the following shifts

o   Tuesday October 15:  9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p

o   Wednesday October 16:  9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p

o   Thursday October 17:  9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p, 9p-12a, 12a-3a, 3a-6a

o   Friday October 18:  6a-9a, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p, 9p-12a, 12a-3a, 3a-6a

o   Saturday October 19:  6a-9a, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p

o   Sunday October 20:  6a-9a, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p, 9p-12a

o   Monday October 21:  6a-9a, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p, 9p-12a, 12a-3a

o   Tuesday October 22:  6a-9a, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-6p, 6p-9p, 9p-12a, 12a-3a

o   Wednesday October 23:  6a-9a, 9a-12p

MERCHANDISE BOOTH - Please contact
Deb Schmittel at debschmittel@msn.com  for more information on volunteering in this area.  Help is needed now to take our convention merchandise to rabbit shows to promote the convention and also raise money for MARCS. Chairs Deb & Lia Schmittel (mother and daughter) need assistance. You can help at the shows they are scheduled to attend by giving them a break from being in the booth or even take a set of merchandise to a show that you plan to attend.

YOUTH CONTEST ANIMALS - Please contact Gerry Vaerewyck at gv@vere.com for more information on volunteering in this area.  You can register these animals at https://secure.netsolhost.com/vere.com/html1/arba2013.htmlApproximately 300-400 rabbits and cavies are needed for the Youth Contests. These animals arrive and leave with the same rules as those that are entered in the show. There is separate cooping for the contest animals. Some are needed for Breed Identification contests and others are needed for the Judging Contests. Gerry Vaerewyck is collecting a list of animals for these contests.
